Who invented the first adjustable bed?
The story that is told is that Howard Hughes was in a hospital where he met a mattress manufacturer who was also in the hospital. They started talking and Howard Hughes said "Eureka!" . . .and Howard Hughes sent his engineers to this manufacturer of mattresses and the first adjustable bed was invented, which in 1953 became the first adjustable bed for the home. Howard Hughes actually became the first adjustable bed owner. The adjustable bed industry was born.
